The London Art Scene ( the west end):
Walking around the commercial art galleries of the west end, I noticed that it was not easy to distinguish between, gallery, shop and office building. All are heavily curated and minimalist in their appearance. Shop windows sport abstract art objects, there layout resembling that of a gallery, shelves with single shirts upon them, rails suspended from the ceiling. Offices displaying vast painting, and photographs, calming, generic, lacking intrigue there to make a statement of wealth over actual taste. The doors to these buildings, gallery and high end shop alike, daunting with their brass knockers and intercoms, suggesting only a certain class of person could enter. The exteriors of these buildings are uniform in appearance.
